Founded in 2011 on the Gold Coast, Unidan Engineering has grown into Australia’s premier Unimog specialist. While our roots lie in founder Daniel Mavin’s decades of off-road engineering experience, Unidan is now backed by a team of nearly 30 skilled professionals. From mechanics and fabricators to design, marketing, and sales experts, we are united by a shared passion for innovation in off-road and commercial vehicle solutions.


As an official dealer for the Mercedes-Benz Unimog Centre since 2019, we continue to set the benchmark for custom Unimog builds. Operating from our state-of-the-art 4,000m² Yatala facility, we have expanded our capabilities to deliver high-quality production, investing in cutting-edge machinery and optimising processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Our advanced in-house equipment—including 5-axis machining, laser cutting, robotic welding, and 3D scanning—ensures precision manufacturing for both expedition and commercial vehicles.

Unidan’s mechanical team specialises in custom builds, drivetrain upgrades, extreme-duty enhancements, and expert maintenance and restoration. They ensure every vehicle performs at its best and stays in peak condition for the long haul.

Assembly Team

5-Axis Machine Centre

The Mazak Integrex i-250H supports in-house production by manufacturing over 150 accessory components with precision and efficiency, ensuring quality control and offering bespoke solutions to local businesses.

Laser Cutter

A 6kW Fibre Laser Cutter that delivers precision cutting for various metals, ensuring efficient project completion and high-quality finishes, and we also offer its services to local businesses.

Brake Press

LVD 170t 6-Axis Hydraulic Press Brake, introduced in 2021, revolutionised production with high-speed bending, reducing lead times while ensuring unmatched precision and quality for accessories and custom parts.


Gantry Crane System

The gantry crane system enhances manufacturing and assembly efficiency by handling heavy loads and large components with precision, improving productivity, reducing turnaround times, and ensuring high-quality results.

Robotic Welder

Our robotic welder increases efficiency by focusing on repetitive tasks, freeing up skilled tradespeople for complex work, reducing lead times, and ensuring flawless, high-quality welds.

Deburring Station

The deburring station ensures precision and safety by smoothing metal components, removing imperfections, and enhancing functionality while maintaining the highest quality standards in our builds and products.


Laser Engraver

XTool P2 and XTool F1 laser engravers provide precise, high-quality markings and custom designs, ensuring clear, durable, and professional details that enhance both aesthetics and functionality.

3D Printer

The 3D printer accelerates prototyping and manufacturing, enabling us to design, test, refine, and produce components like RTIS System Caps and switch mounts, with more innovations on the way.

3D Scanner

Our Artec Eva 3D Scanner simplifies reverse engineering by creating detailed, high-resolution 3D models, ensuring precise measurements and efficient manufacturing when CAD files are unavailable.
