COMPLETED JULY 2020 

 This U1700 has undergone a full Cosmetic Restoration and is looking better than ever. With a Raised Roof Kit, Custom Unidan Front Grill, Cab Insulation, Air Con and Unidan Triple Step Battery Box, this truck is looking good as new. Both the tray and the chassis has been fully restored, with the whole truck being re-painted to freshen it up and taking if from an old army truck with Camo Green paint (not that there’s anything wrong with that) to a modern, slick, Gun Metal Grey, ready for display. Currently, this Unimog is undergoing even more upgrades back at our shop, being fitted out with the Unidan High Style Bull Bar and Scrub Bars to really finish off the look.

CHASSIS RESTORATION

When doing a Chassis restoration we make sure to start from the ground up. With multiple steam cleans, de-grease, and clean of the Chassis, Engine, Gearbox and differentials it allows us to ensure no rust or dirt is anywhere to be found. After the deep clean we ensure to prime before the application of a sufficient 3 layers of paint over the entirety of the chassis to prevent any decay and rust and freshen up the look of the vehicle.

TRAY RESTORATION

Similar to a chassis restoration in the process of restoring the tray, we make sure to start from the very beginning by sand blasting the entire tray to remove any rust or unwanted debris. The tray is then powder-coated and new tray decking is placed, to create a fresh look as well as protect from rust and decay.

UNIDAN CUSTOM FRONT GRILL

We installed the custom Unidan front grill to this U1700 to give the Unimog a facelift everyone will love. This particular grill is Unidan’s original design.

UNIDAN RAISED ROOF KIT

The raised roof feature allows for a more spacious feel to the cab, making travel much more comfortable. It also allows more usability of the cab, for example, this truck has been fitted out with our Unidan Air Conditioning Unit which is ducted in the raised section of the roof, eliminating the need to take up floor space. Both modifications creates a more spacious atmosphere in the vehicle, whilst making traveling much more comfortable. The extra space also allows room for overhead storage, gauge panels and a console.

Not only used for good looks on a Unimog, but also used for added protection! As well as extra mounting points for some extra LEDS!
