    What does a full-floating axle actually do?

A full-floating axle takes vehicle weight off the axle shafts entirely, transferring it to the axle housing and hub assembly. The shafts are left to do one job only; deliver drive. The result is a massive reduction in stress, dramatically improved durability, and a rear end designed to survive when others fail.
