IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Unidan Engineering has no issues installing this door handle kit in house when fitted by our technicians in accordance with the torque settings specified by the manufacturer.

When the kit is supplied for customer installation, it is critical that the handle retaining bolt is not tightened beyond 2Nm of torque. Overtightening beyond 2Nm can cause the nut to separate from the plastic handle.

Failure due to overtightening is not a manufacturing defect. It is considered installation damage.

As such:

• The manufacturer does not provide warranty coverage for damage caused by overtightening.
• Unidan Engineering cannot offer refunds or exchanges where the threaded insert has pulled out due to incorrect installation torque.

If overtightening occurs and the nut separates from the handle, a practical field repair option is to bond the nut back into the plastic housing using an appropriate high strength adhesive.

By purchasing this product for self installation, you acknowledge that correct torque procedures must be followed and that damage caused by incorrect installation is not covered under warranty.

If you are unsure about installation, we recommend professional fitting.

Instructions for Installing Handle Kit

• Avoid Overtightening: When installing the handle kit, ensure you do not overtighten. Overtightening is a common issue that can cause the handle to break.
• Finger Tighten: Simply finger tighten the nuts. This will be tight enough, as the nuts are self-securing and do not loosen over time. This level of tightening is sufficient to securely hold the handle in place.
• Torque Limitation: Use no more than 2 Nm of torque. Tightening beyond this can cause the bolts to break, as they will fail around +/- 2.5 Nm, which is consistent with the original Mercedes parts.

By following these steps, you will prevent damage and ensure proper installation.
